Frequent and Urgent Repairs

When they first contacted us, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority was running obsolete and barely functional equipment. Repairs were becoming more frequent and urgent. They needed a solution that would help them cut back on repair costs and minimize disruptions to their daily operations.

Replacing Outdated Equipment

When our team at Temperature Controlled Mechanical Services (TCMS) arrived, we immediately recognized how outdated the RRHA’s equipment was and saw that they needed to upgrade.

Our plan was to transition RRHA to new, high-efficiency equipment that would be more reliable and reduce energy costs in the long term. Our recommendations included:

  • Plumbing – Hydraulic piping for the heat systems.
  • Pipe replacements – Corrosion created leaks and stoppages so we had to replace their piping system immediately.
  • HVAC repairs – Rooftop units were barely functioning and in desperate need of repairs.

Staying Within Budget

The biggest challenge we faced was economical. As a public institution, the RRHA had limited funding. Staying within budget while acquiring the necessary equipment required us to pull a few strings and think outside the box.

Tapping into our network and leveraging our relationships, we were able to find more economical options and acquire the equipment far below the market price.
